Important Notice: Funding for the Canadian Vaccine Catalogue will expire on March 31, 2024. As of April 1, 2024, the CVC will no longer be available to the public. The Public Health Agency of Canada PHAC is developing a new National Vaccine Catalogue (NVC) that will replace the CVC as a public resource for vaccine standards in Canada.
The CVC has up-to-date terminology and product information for all COVID-19 vaccine products in Canada.
The CVC is a data system that centralizes standardized immunization terminology and product data. It is used to capture, record and exchange immunization data in digital health systems, enabling interoperability and public health surveillance in real-time. It is used by health informatics and IT professionals developing digital health systems.

Interoperability is the ability of computer systems and software products to seamlessly exchange and use stored data.
Standardized vaccine terminology is essential for governments, electronic medical record vendors and any organization tracking immunization data, as it permits timely aggregation and reporting of data across the country for surveillance purposes.
